Managing Director, Research & Academics
Courtney McBeth is a Managing Director of Research and Academics at the Sorenson Impact Center, where she creates academic curriculum and programming and also facilitates social impact projects and evaluations.
Prior to Sorenson, Courtney was Associate Director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics and ran the local, national, and international internship programs, distinguished scholarships, and publications. Courtney was also the Director of Global Internships for the Office for Global Engagement and co-established and developed the University of Utah’s global internship program to place thousands of students in nonprofit, government, and businesses organizations in more than 65 countries. Courtney has chaired and served on various university committees and non-profit boards, and was a founding board member of the U.N. Women’s Utah chapter. She has created and taught interdisciplinary and online courses in both the Political Science and Social Work departments in the areas of community-based research, civic engagement, and internships.
Courtney is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds an M.S. summa cum laude in Education and a B.A. magna cum laude in Political Science from the University of Utah, where she was a team captain and Academic All-Freshman for the Utah Women’s Soccer team.
