Consulting to Not-for-Profit Organizations

Use Your Skills to Make a Difference!

Registration open for Social Venturing: Consulting to Not-for-Profit Organizations
A three credit, ten week class on Wednesdays, from 6:00 - 10:00 pm

Non-profits are complex businesses. Just like profit driven businesses, they must find new markets, increase efficiency, demonstrate return on investment, and strengthen their business practices. The challenge is that most nonprofits are not run by people with training in business, data analytics, or marketing. That is where you come in.

After a several year hiatus, we are again offering talented students a hands-on opportunity to solve business leadership challenges of several local non-profits. You will provide these agencies the specific consulting skills they need, and expand your business networks. The class is taught by Fraser Nelson, Managing Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Sorenson Impact Center. Fraser is a well known nonprofit expert who taught the class for several years. Before joining Sorenson Impact she served as Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams Director of Data and Innovation, and led several nonprofits, including the Community Foundation of Utah, and the Disability Law Center

The class includes admission to the 2018 Winter Innovation Summit, the preeminent social impact and innovation convening (January 24 and 25, 2018). There you will have the opportunity to hear from and network with hundreds of elected officials, impact investors, policymakers, private foundations, nonprofit service providers, social entrepreneurs, and academics from around the globe working on impact financing models, the intersection of data, evidence, and impact measurement, new opportunities for impact investing, and research-based best practices in social services.
